ABOUT MANAR

Manar House is a distinguished Grade B listed Georgian mansion, originally built in 1811 by the renowned Scottish architect John Smith, whose career later culminated in the design of Balmoral Castle for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Steeped in architectural heritage, Manar stands as a testament to a remarkable period of Scottish craftsmanship and country living.

Set within 65 acres of private Aberdeenshire countryside, the estate enjoys both seclusion and convenience—nestled just minutes from the charming market town of Inverurie and only a 20-minute drive from Aberdeen Airport. Rolling parkland, mature woodland and expansive skies create a sense of calm and escape, while remaining effortlessly connected.

Acquired in 2020 by Dean and Christina Horspool, Manar House has undergone a meticulous and deeply considered restoration. The initial focus was on rescuing and safeguarding the fabric of the historic building, followed by a sensitive renovation and upgrade programme designed to honour its Georgian elegance while discreetly introducing modern comfort. Today, Manar House is offered as a luxury exclusive-hire estate—an invitation to experience, celebrate and share a rare piece of architectural history, thoughtfully preserved and sustainably stewarded for generations to come.
